UNO’s 2nd Annual Gratitude Day Was a Huge Success!

On Thursday, April 2, the University of Nebraska at Omaha teamed up with the University of Nebraska Foundation and the UNO Alumni Association to celebrate our second annual Gratitude Day, and it did not disappoint.

A big thank you to our amazing campus partners who helped make Gratitude Day possible: the Office of Engagement, the Durango Advancement and Support Hub (DASH), Spirit and Tradition, Campus Rec and Wellbeing, Student Leadership and Involvement (SLI), and MavVideo.

Gratitude in Action

Milo Bail was buzzing with energy as 435 students joined the celebration, connected with campus partners, and learned how philanthropy plays a powerful role in shaping their UNO experience.

Students showed their appreciation in a big way by writing 376 thank you cards and recording more than 20 thank you videos. These messages of gratitude were shared with the donors who support UNO each year, including alumni, faculty, staff, and even fellow students who give their time and resources to make a difference.

The fun did not stop there. More than 20 students volunteered during the event, helping scoop ice cream, hand out swag, and assist their peers with writing thank you notes.

Gratitude Day Made Waves Online

During the event, UNO Fund Instagram gained 70 new followers. Follow along throughout the year to stay up to date on philanthropy focused events like Gratitude Day, Wear Black, Give Back, and upcoming volunteer opportunities. Want to learn more? Check out the story from UNO Gateway below.
